AppleCare+ is Apple's brand name for extended warranty and technical support plans for their devices. Apple hardware normally has a one-year limited warranty and includes 90 days of technical support by telephone. Customers can obtain extended warranty coverage and technical support, which extends the length and expands the scope of coverage and includes two instances of accidental damage repair at discounted prices in most regions by purchasing AppleCare+.[1] The AppleCare Protection Plan is available for many Apple products including Mac computers and displays, iPhones and iPads, Apple Watches, and Apple TV.[2] AppleCare plans include Apple software associated with the covered hardware. Customers can also buy additional support and training through AppleCare.[2]
- 1AppleCare+ and AppleCare Protection Plans
AppleCare+ for Mac is an insurance plan that provides up to three years of expert technical support 1 and additional hardware coverage 2 from Apple, including up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to an excess fee of £79 for screen damage or external enclosure damage, or £229 for other damage. 3 In addition, you’ll get 24/7 priority access to Apple experts by chat or phone. Apple sells extended warranties for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, iPod touch, and Apple TV. Here’s what they cost, what they cover, and answers to all your other questions too.
At the $249 rate, you will spend $500 over the next decade on AppleCare for your Mac. For Apple Watch, I’ll assume the $399 model. If you bought three over the next decade, you would spend $237.
AppleCare+ and AppleCare Protection Plans[edit]
Every AirPort, Apple Display, Apple TV, Apple Watch, iPad, iPod, iPhone, HomePod, Mac, and AirPods comes with complimentary telephone technical support and a limited warranty from Apple. The AppleCare Protection Plan and AppleCare+ extends the service coverage and provides one-stop service and support from Apple experts.[3]
The AppleCare Protection Plan is sold by Apple and its authorized resellers for Apple TV and AirPort exclusively and must be phrased at the time of purchase or AppleCare Protection Plan must be purchased within 30 days in Japan and within 60 days where available.[4][5] AppleCare+ is available as an add-on purchase with every Apple Display, Apple Watch, iPad, iPod, iPhone, HomePod, Mac, and AirPods at the time of purchase; otherwise AppleCare+ or AppleCare Protection Plan must be purchased within 30 days in Japan and within 60 days where available.[4]For all hardware devices, following the included 90-day telephone/Internet support and one-year hardware warranty, buying the AppleCare Protection Plan for a MacBook computer or a separate AppleCare Protection Plan for Apple displays extends both support and hardware to three years.[6] Additionally, buying AppleCare+ for iPods and other iOS devices can extend both support and hardware to two years. Extended coverage under the Protection Plan is available for the Apple Watch for either two or three years, depending on the particular model of the device.[7] The AppleCare Protection Plan extends the complimentary 90-day coverage to three years from the original device purchase date for Mac or Apple displays and two years from the given device's purchase date for iPads,iPhones, iPods, or Apple TV devices.[8]
AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss coverage[edit]
Theft and loss coverage is only provided in Japan and the United States of America.[9] AppleCare+ with theft and loss includes up to two incidences of accidental damage, theft or loss coverage at a reduced cost to the end consumer.[10] Currently Theft and Loss coverage is unavailable in Europe, South America, Asia Pacific, Africa North America (Canada) or Antartica.
Included Mac accessory coverage[edit]
Users who purchase an AppleCare Protection Plan with any Mac computer are also automatically entitled to receive coverage for some other related Apple accessories. Along with coverage for the MacBook, any additional Apple display purchased at the same time as a Macbook device and/or any Apple AirPort device (e.g., AirPort Express Base Station, AirPort Extreme Base Station, or Time Capsule) is covered. (Note: Although the AirPort device or Time Capsule must be purchased up to two years before the MacBook purchase or during the term of the AppleCare Protection Plan coverage).[8]
Competition[edit]
Today, there are several third-party warranty providers and traditional insurance providers that will also cover Apple products. Some may include accident, loss, and theft coverage as well as hardware failure warranties. Some major retailers that sell Apple products sell their own extended service plans as well.
AppleCare Extended Service[edit]
In some countries or territories where there are no local Apple offices, such as parts of Latin America, the 'AppleCare Extended Service' product is available in place of the AppleCare product. This offers the same hardware warranty without phone/Internet support.
AppleCare and EU legislation[edit]
In some parts of European countries apart of the European Union (EU), local regulations gives consumers a minimum of two years warranty on hardware defects that existed at time of purchase, which overlaps the benefits of AppleCare. This effectively means that, in certain countries in the EU, an AppleCare Protection Plan still extends phone/Internet support from 90 days on all devices.[11] In most countries the onus under the EU law is on the merchant to establish that a hardware defect did not exist at time of purchase for the first six months after purchase. After the six-month-period this is reversed, meaning that the customer needs to establish that a hardware defect did exist when they received the product.[12] Unlike the statutory guarantee AppleCare also covers defects that appeared after purchase, if the device was handled correctly.[13]
In reality, this means that the EU legislation gives customers a 6-month guarantee, because it is typically impossible for a customer to prove a defect existed at the time of purchase.[according to whom?][citation needed]
AppleCare also includes an express replacement service for iPad and iPhone. AppleCare+ insures against accidental damage, unlike the statutory warranty.[14] For Mac computers with or without any additional included covered Mac accessories, (or separately purchased Apple monitors with their own purchased Apple Protection Plan) this still extends cover to a third year from the statutory two years.

How to remove AppleCare And Warranty from Mac?
What is AppleCare And Warranty?
Displayed by a malicious website, 'AppleCare And Warranty' is a fake error message claiming that the system is infected. Research shows that users often visit this website inadvertently - they are redirected by potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) that typically infiltrate systems without permission. Be aware that these rogue programs are designed to misuse system resources, gather sensitive data, and deliver 'malvertising' ads (pop-ups, coupons, banners, etc.)
The 'AppleCare And Warranty' error targets the MacOS. It claims that the system is infected and, for this reason, users should immediately call '1-888-621-0834' to prevent further damage. After contacting 'certified technicians', users supposedly receive help removing malware and resolving other relating issues. In fact, 'AppleCare And Warranty' is a scam. This error is fake and it has nothing to do with Apple. Cyber criminals aim to extort money from unsuspecting users by encouraging them to pay for technical support that is not required. These people also aim to trick users into granting remote access to their computers. Once connected, they install malware and/or change system settings (e.g., users' passwords). Cyber criminals claim to 'detect' additional issues and offer help for an extra fee. For these reasons, you are advised to never call the aforementioned telephone number. 'AppleCare And Warranty' error can be removed by closing the web browser (preferably via Task Manager) or rebooting the system.
As mentioned above, potentially unwanted programs (and malicious websites) run unwanted processes (e.g., mine cryptocurrency) in the background. This misuse of resources significantly diminishes overall system performance. In addition, potentially unwanted programs record various user-system information that often includes personal data. Developers sell this information to third parties (potentially, cyber criminals). 'AppleCare And Warranty' shares many similarities with WARNING! MAC OS Is Infected, Apple Security Alert, Critical Security Warning!, and dozens of other fake errors. All state that the system is corrupted (e.g., missing files, infected, not protected, etc.), however, these claims are merely attempts to trick users into calling and paying for technical services that are not required. Research shows that potentially unwanted programs are very similar. By falsely claiming to enable 'useful functions', PUPs attempt to give the impression of legitimacy and trick users to install, however, their only purpose is to generate revenue for the developers. Rather than delivering any real value for regular users, PUPs risk users' privacy and browsing safety.

How did potentially unwanted programs install on my computer?
Some PUPs are known to have official download/promotion websites, however, in most cases, they are distributed using the aforementioned ads and via a deceptive marketing method called 'bundling'. Therefore, due to lack of knowledge and careless behavior by many users, PUPs often infiltrate systems without permission. Developers hide 'bundled' apps within various sections (e.g., the 'Custom/Advanced' options) of the download/installation processes. Furthermore, many users rush/skip steps and click dubious ads. In doing so, they expose their systems to risk of various infections and compromise their privacy.
How to avoid installation of potentially unwanted applications?
The key to computer safety is caution - pay close attention when browsing the Internet and downloading/installing software. Malicious ads appear genuine, but are distinguishable for their redirects - most lead to surveys, gambling, adult dating, pornography, etc. As mentioned above, they are often displayed by malicious apps. Therefore, if you encounter them, immediately remove all suspicious applications and browser extensions. Furthermore, carefully analyze each step (especially the 'Custom/Advanced' settings) of the download/installation processes and opt-out of all additionally-included programs. Note that third party download/installation tools are monetized using the 'bundling' method - they promote malicious apps and, thus, should never be used.
